Handy to the heart of Christchurch, Knights Stream Park offers the city side convenience and easy access to SH1, plus the warmth of the Halswell community right on your doorstep, including a shopping centre, supermarket, public swimming pool, library, bakery and cafes. As well as a thriving township centre close by, Knights Stream Park enjoys the wide open spaces, where children can kick a ball, throw a Frisbee, walk the dog alongside the stream, or you can simply relax in the comfort of your own back yard. Knights Stream Park is ideal for families young and old, while our adjoining Longhurst development, while also providing for family homes, is also perfect for the independent lifestyle, professional couples or seniors whose children have flown the nest.

Situated in the Halswell area, which was previously known as Tai Tapu (now being the name given to the village to the south), Knights Stream Park was once part of an important waka haulage link between the Heathcote and Halswell Rivers.

As can be seen from the name, Knights Stream Park is being developed in a manner that recognises the significance of its setting. Knights Stream borders the development and will be enhanced using the alignment of roads and walkways, plus extensive native trees and plantings in reserves and along roadways to provide a natural corridor that will run along Knights Stream Park.

The main thoroughfare through Knights Stream Park will merge the outstanding features of the east with west, the grandeur of the Port Hills to the east and the mighty Southern Alps to the west.

Knights Stream Park will develop over a number of years in accordance with an overall masterplan and in conjunction with the adjacent Longhurst development, where a medical centre and neighbourhood shops are being developed.

  • A pre-school is planned within Knights Stream Park. In addition, Seedings Early Learning Centre is open now on Hamill Road within the adjacent Longhurst development.
